Topic: doggie swim ladder

We have an 1982 Hunter sailboat and can not find a swim ladder tall enough for our 100lb Golden Retreiver to get back into the sailboat after swimming. Has anyone come up with a solution? We don't have a swimming platform or a walk thru back like the newer sailboats. We tried to clip on a line to his life jacket but he was too heavy and the clasp broke. I hope that someone can help us. My Casey is just too heavy for me to lift. Some systems involve a long ramp with a float at the end to hold it up but low enough in the water for him to swim into. If your sailboat has high free-board all the way around the transom you have another problem for him to overcome. Maybe you can use the end of the boom to lift a doggy sling. Good luck.
