what part of the benches are you looking at. things like that you're best off having them make and upholster.

Hi Don
I am looking for the L-shaped bench ,I have the 2 straight benches along back but would like to add an L bench behind the front seat.
I was thinking about getting it made and upholstered but can't find anyone who can stitch the Thompson name as the originals have.

i think Don's suggestion is right on target...
they look pretty good from this angle..?
i re-built mine so that it could easily be removed for extra room for fishing trips. it used to fold up for access to the engines but still left a little to be desired. i used hardware meant for a galley table. now it lowers into a slotted stainless bracket and easily lifts back off.

Thanks Chuck--- I don't actually need to re-do my seats, I am trying to fina extra seats to add onto the deck to increase our outside sitting area.
By the way --nice boat you got there...

I have twin Mercruiser 5.0L with Alpha 1 drives. We tried it out a few times before we purchased and she comes right out of the water,m seems to be very good setup.
I just finished Compound, Wax and Detailing--covered for the dust and am attacking the inside teak next on deck,, cabin is complete and re-done with leather and refinished teak as well as smoked glass doors in the galley.

that's one of the things that really "sold" ours when we looked at it/bought it.
after driving several other similar sized cruisers. this boat seemed to just lift right out of the water like magic. RPM's up to about 3300-3500 , she pops right out and will cruise at 3000RPM easily. with no use of the trim tabs or even messing with the drive trim. dying to see how these 454 mags do, compared to the 350's !!

It really is too bad that more people don't know about Thompsons,, they are well designed, well made and as you said they cruise like magic.
I will post some pictures of my progress as we go, keep up the great work on yours and pray summer comes fast.... I am already getting the itch.

as far as the stitching, we have had to match other things in the past. we took a picture and went to a few custom embroydery (sp) they could type it in and matched real close.
So, have an upholsterer dry fit all the pieces and have the stiiching put in then the benches finished.
