Water filter or air filters?

On my Carver, there is a water filter right at the thru-hull where the cooling water enters the boat. I have two A/C Units, and a single inlet supplies water for both.

There are no air filters per-se. The return-air grilles for the units have an expanded metal screen, which is all there is resembling a filter.
