Hey everyone, I just recently purchaced a 1989 thompson 205 carerra, It needed some work, floor was in bad shape so I replaced the whole floor and recarpeted it.  I would have to say over all I'm happy with the lay out of the boat.  I just wanted to say hi everyone on here and If anyone has any advice on what to keep an eye out for on these boats I would greatly apprreciate it.

Congratulations on the boat!  I had to replace the floor also.  I put down carpet for 1 season then tore it up and had gel coat sprayed over the entire floor and up the side about 8".  So far I have been really happy with the boat.

the carpet held the water in.  when I would get back to the slip and close the canvas up it would start to get moldy.  Also everything that was spilled on the floor was real hard to clean up.

Added benefit, it makes the boat brighter

I may be the only Canadian here so was wondering where you hail out of, most folks are also on the East Coast and I am on the West, my Daytona 300 is moored in the Vancouver BC area.

I'm in florida, around the pensacola area.  I like it down here, the weather is normally pretty good except for when we happen to get a hurricane..lol

Hey darchie1,,, looks like we are now 2 Canadians on the site. I hail from Valleyfield , Quebec . Daytona 310.. Love the boat, handles like a charm. If you have pics of your boat I would love to see them.

 

Hope everyones boating season is gettting off o nthe same good foot ours is here, beautiful hot weather and hardly and wind,, great long days on the water.
