hello everybody,

My next challemgeis finding the values for the fuses in the panel of my 1983 25' catalina.

Any body know where to go, or know the values?

SR - you most likely will have to pull the panel and retrieve that specific info off the original breakers.  There is a label on the breakers that identify the breakers part number, voltage, etc.  Do not assume that an off-the-shelf breaker from West Marine will work on your panel.  There have been many changes since your boat was built.  If you need a replacement breaker, it is better to pull the old one and get the manufacturer's data.  This is especially true on the 12vdc side.  I had to replace a couple of breakers (and add a new service) on my 86' Chris Connie.  The breakers were manufactured by AirPax who is now Sensata Technologies  http://airpax.sensata.com/   They still carry all the breakers as far as I know.  Hope this helps.

Thanks. I need that info bad as well, but what i am looking for is the fuse  values for the fuses mounted under the switches at the helm.

I am going in order easiest to hardest...

I have a Catalina 280 and would imagine the fuse values would be similar (ones under each switch on the helm), I just need to look at the diagram.

The Mariners Museum in Newport News Virginia has most of the Chris Craft documentation including wiring diagrams for purchase which may help: http://www.mariner.org/library/chris-craft

Soundrunner, here is what is listed on the schematic for the 280:

Key Ignition - 20A

Blower - 15A

Nav/Anc Lights - 15A

Panel Lights - 15A

Courtesy Lights - 5A

Bilge Pumps - 7.5A (each)

Wipers - 10A (each)

Horn - 15A

Trim Tabs (if equipped) - 20A

Should also note that if any of the components have been changed from the original spec (such as horn, pumps, etc.) you should probably check for that item's fuse requirements as well as wiring requirements.

For example, I upgraded my horn to a larger one and it had a higher amp fuse requirement but the wiring gauge was still within range.
