I have a 2004 Intrigue with VP 320hp GXi's and am looking for the most efficient cruise speed/RPM.
My research thus far and observations of ride attitude/RPM/Speed shows that 29-31 mph is ideal. The boat doesn't require tabs to achieve proper plane and the boat is more "on-top" than lesser, on-plane speeds.
A while ago Doral used to publish RPM/SPEED/GPH graphs on their website but they don't do that any longer. My efforts to see a boat test of the 310 with the GXi's have turned up nothing.
Can anybody help me locate the best cruise speed and/or a RPM/Speed/GPH graphs?
Just to share info, I took a 200+ mile trip last week and averaged an estimated 1.25 mpg, but speeds were typically slower than 29-31 mph. I was happy with this expected result.
Thanks in advance.

My best cruise speed is at 3200RPM with the 5.7 280HP on my 310.

If I'm not in a hurrry, I run my boat at 3200rpm also. According to the GPS I get a speed of 25.6 knots. At this speed I burn about 21 gals and hour. There are times when I run at 4000 rpms and it doesn't seem to burn much more. I have the 5.7 280hp. I just love my Volvos.
