We purchased a 1988 Bayliner 2445 Sunbridge and apparently it was not winterized properly.

The repair (6-11k) is much more than we paid for the boat. She we scrap her and buy a different boat or is the repair worth it for that year of a boat? The engine is an OMC 230hp Cobra.

I think you estimate to replace an engine is way out of line.  I have a 1986 2750 ciera w/5.7 chevrolet on the market for $3000.   so you see their are lots of options.
