95 Rage Whaler Jet-15: Sudden mechanical problem

< http-equiv="Content-" content="text/; charset=utf-8">< name="ProgId" content="Word.">< name="Generator" content="Microsoft Word 12">< name="Originator" content="Microsoft Word 12">

After spending an afternoon boating I stopped the boat to anchor & relax at a sand bar (3-4 feet deep). After about 45minutes it was time to leave. The motor started right up but I quickly realized that the steering wheel was locked up and the throttle lever is not functional. I had to be towed to shore.

I have the boat on a hoist at my cottage and will have my first opportunity to attempt a repair this weekend.

Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

Any input, suggestions please.
