Installed a new FM radio with remote. It all works fine until I am at port and plugged into electric, now when I turn on the battery charger, the radio goes to nearly all static, they same happens with the refrigerator, but not as bad.

any ideas here?

Did the original have a remote?  Does the new one need more power?  Did you use the old wires or run new?

yes, I had a remote with the original fm radio, but keep in mind the problem is not the remote, I will get static with or without the remote installed

The radio is receiving 13.2v with the charger off and 14v with it on.

I cut the old butt connectors off and installed new connectors. No, I did not install new wiring for the 12+ and ground.

This weekend I intend to prove dirty power or signal bleed.  I am going to connect the radio to an isolated power source (car battery) and turn on the battery charger at port. If the noise stops, the problem is dirty power, if it continues, the problem is signal bleed.

I think yo are on the right path checking for dirty wiring and putting the radio on isolated power. 

How old is the battery charger?

The boat is a 2005, bought in 2006. It sat for nearly a year with 10 hrs on it when I bought it.

It could be loose or dirty connections some where.  I think it is too new for the battery charger to have gone south but you never know.

It might not hurt to make sure all the butt splices are tight.
