I have a 310SE.  Everytime I flush the toilet it smells.  Whether its been pumped out or not.  If i lift up the stairs where the pump is located I can smell it in there as well.

Any suggestions?

Probably this is not the cause, but in my elegante there is a replaceable waste tank vent filter, that tells you change every year.

Maybe the filter is no longer working.  Mine is located near the waste tank under a panel beneath the bed in the aft cabin.

Replace the vent filter. Chances are it is located along the inside of the hull above the starboard fuel tank. If not there follow the line from the vent (exit at the hull) towards the tank and you should find it. There is more than one size so find first beforing ordering. Many friends make their own with PVC and charcoal granuals as they can be a bit pricy!

My Intrigue (same as the 310) was not equipped with a vent filter from
the factory. I ran into the same issues for a while until I started using
the CampaChem product, which immediately solved the issue. I never
installed a filter as the issue never resurfaced when I used that product,
(I used 8oz per tank - between each pumpout - just to be sure), and
filters are yet another maintenance item that can make the problem
worse if unattended. It also helps to do a clean flush or two with no
waste at the end of every boating weekend, so that no waste remains in
the pump area and in the hoses, which may solve the smell issue from
under the steps. If the smell in that area persists, check your hoses,
they may need replacement.
