My 2005 Monticello is equiped with a Lowrance 3500 digital sonar that has worked fine until this season. When the boat was launched, the depth sounder flashed .5 feet. Subsequent attempts to get it to work have failed. At one point it went blank when I started the engine, then got back to flashing .5' the next time. All I get at the Lowrance service center is a busy signal. Marina service manager suggests it might be the transducer which is thru-hull. I don't want to haul the boat but am concerned if I do any cruising away from local waters.
Anyone out there have a similar problem or any ideas? Could I have messed up when I reinstalled the batteries this spring? I did step on the transducer accidentally and one of the trailer rollers was partially on the bronze thru-hull (but it was that was in previous years).
I'm away from the boat for two weeks and hope to find out whats wrong before I get back.
Thanks.
