My vaccu flush toilet is having trouble.

The ball that is supposed to rotate open and closed is sticking either open or shut.  Sometimes it works, but most times it will stick.

I've tried some marine drain lubricants, but it did not work.

Has anyone had this problem?  Any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks

There is a spring mechanism that connects to the pedal and ball assembly that is what seem to be broken.  The original ones had a plastic shaft that would break over time. The new ones are made of brass.  Just go to the sea/land web site and you can order the parts directly from them.  It's an easy fix.  Watch what lubricants you use, they could break down the rubber seal that is around the ball and then you will be replacing it also.

Is it common to have the seal go bad in this type of head.  I, too, have a sealand vacuflush.  The ball valve works well, but the seal (i believe) allows the water to pass by in the closed position, not allowing the vaccu-unit to build enough vacuum to shut off.

Help!

Thanks for the help Doral 310.

Got my replacement parts and it wasn't too hard to fix.  The I-Driver really helped get into the tight spots.  It works perfect now.  Wife will be happy!
