hi all, i have a 1984 9m trojan internatioal. lost may steering the other day. air pressure and oil in resevior gone. checked all fitting and tubing in boat. found no leaks. refilled and presurerized. all works. later saw oil in water by starboard swim platform. oil was dripping out of the steering cable boot. any ideas how to fix this problem?????

The first thing you have to do is find out exactly where the leak is coming from. Hoses rearly leak in the middle, unless it is being chaffed by something. Therefore, look at the crimp at the end of the hose or at the fitting the hose goes into.

Wipe off the fitting you want to check so there is no signs of oil on them.Take a clean paper towel and wrap it around the fittings.You may need to use a wire tie to hold it in place. With the system preaserized turn the wheel several times. Check the towels. if there is any oil on any of them it will pin point the leak.
