Larson makes a great runabout, bowrider, etc.  We have a 29ft. cruiser and love it.  I have done a lot of research over the years  and although the Larson is usually not as highly ranked as the SeaRay or others, it is very respectable. I think this is partly due to the limited number of Larson owners who rate their boat.

A call for speculation.  Is now a good time to buy a new 2008 Larson 208 LXI considering Genmar's current status??  Not much good buying a new boat if the warranty isn't going to be there.  I'm kind of surprised at the recomendation that the boat shouldn't be left in the water for more than 10 days.  I would think that a boat is made to float and I *should* be able to keep it in a wet slip without problems.  But then I've never been accused of thinking right before.  I'm hoping that my next boat would last me for 20 years.  Is that an unreasonable expectation?

First of all it's a great time to buy a boat as prices are still low. Second even if Genmar goes under, someone will buy it out of bankruptcy and carry on the brand name as it has value.  Third if they buy the name they will have to maintain the warranty or the Brand is worthless.  Think of Chris Craft years ago and what they went through.
We own a 97 Larson and have only had one problem, a small cabin roof leak. Otherwise the boat has handled storms on Lake Huron, cruised north to Bayfield and south to Put in Bay.  After several hundred hours it still looks great and handles like a sports car.
