Well, I've gained a new respect for the work/expense required for haulouts/bottom paint.

Paint and supplies-$600 (3gallons/2coats)
3 day Haulout with "Travellift" and pressure washing (marina contractor)-$680
Zincs-$180 (shafts stern and trim tabs)
Pub food  for workers too weary to cook- $120(one meal out per three days)
Total with taxes- $1580 Canadian funds

Recommendation: Next time pay someone (two people) to sand and scrape. My body still aches and I have exceeded my lifetime absorbtion of copper through my skin. WEAR GOOD DUSTMASKS and EYE PROTECTION.

Conclusion: boat planes much sooner and small vibration of starboard engine gone. Worth every penny and should last at least two years in our waters.

I also changed out all aft head hoses to get rid of persistent odor due to gas permeatation because of lousy original plumbing job which allowed sewage to deadend in a hose. (No two way valve installed to select overboard or sani-station pumpout). Odor completely gone now. It was a real struggle getting new hoses over old hose barbs though. Recommend heating hose ends with hot water when installing.

Next week oil changes.

Hope everone had a good summer cruising season. Ours was great.
