Interesting Question.

Marinas set rules in pretty much in any manner they deem prudent. The key may be persuation. Wood boats are by their very nature, hi maintenance items. Marina managment may question the ability of a woodie owner to keep them up, which makes good sense as many are abandoned in marinas due to owners losing interest, money problems etc, especially with woodies. This leaves the marina to deal with a new problem, which they will avoid up front as best thay can. If an owner of a wood vessel runs into this issue, it may be a good idea to take an objective look at themselves and their situation and, perhaps how a marina may preceive them. If an owner is financially able to demonstarte better-than-average maintainence of such a vessel, placing a bond or demonstrating ready, willing and ableness may be necessary. A professional mairine maintenance contract or evidence of an agreement in hand to keep the vessel in bristal fashion shown to a marina's managment may be persuasive.

It's all about attitude and ability. Beautiful CC woodies are a treasure and marinas know this. But marinas also know there is always the yin and the yang.

best of luck!
