Locking Gas Cap:  Is Perko OEM on 1985 Chriscraft ?

Have been warned by friends at dock that fishermen steal gas.  My slip is ripe for  the plucking.  would like to install locking gas cap, but don't know what brand to buy.  Need to know if Perko is the OEM for this part on my boat.  If not, then suggestions would be appreciated.

Here's the one I'm looking at:

http://www.iboats.com/Perko_Locking_Gas_Cap_Only/dm/*******. 056101777--list_time.1219769065--**********.054361421--view_ id.39388

Thanks,
Pancho

Pancho,

Assuming we're talking about a '85 CC 280: Factory caps are Perco. If your vessel is'nt a 280, CC by default used common parts on most of their models. Is your's a threaded type with an O-Ring at the top for sealing out water? The product discription says it'll work on all perko products, sooo.

Pulling gas out of 280's would be a chore as the tank intake fitting makes a 90degree turn just before entering the tank...nontheless, you have a point.

Sorry, don't know what you mean by a 280, but the 90 degree angle is interesting.
Will check out my fill tube to see if it would provide an obstacle to siphoning.   Maybe  I should try stealing some gas from my own boat to see if it's even possible.  Good info.  Thanks.
