I have a problem with my the decal that surrounds my boat.  It started cracking.  and according to the local dealers, the original protective film was never removed and over time starts cracking.  Once it cracks, it can't be fixed and it is necessary to replace this 3/4" yellow striping.

I purchased the new decal from Chaparral and paid a premium. Unfortunately, the new decal is translucent and you can see the gel coat through the striping.

I contacted "customer service" for Chaparral three times and left messages to someone named "Robin".  Of course she hasn't returned my phone calls and they have no tech line.  The dealer hasn't helped either.

It's hard to believe Chaparral won JD Power's Customer Service award in 2002.  I guess that's why they havn't won again.

This is the number one reason I will not buy another Chap in the future.

I love the boats and they look great but customer service is horrible.

I had the same experience with Robin who I imagine is the only person in the customer service group fielding calls from all over the world.

I had a Cobalt before my Chap and the service was incredible. You could reach live people on the first call and they gave immediate assistance.

Chap management thinks the lame web site they have for support is all they need.  They are sadly mistaken .  At the end of the day customer service is what will get you a repeat buyer particularly this day and age.

I even wrote a letter to the president of Chaparral and didn't even get a reply.  I love their boats and am in the market for a cruiser now.  I guess I'll take Chaparral off my list.  What a shame!
