For those of you that have the old marine power model K engines that have remote oil filters, it it wise to keep an eye on the hoses that run from the oil filter (mounted on a bracket that bolts to the exhaust risers) to the adapter on the engine block. These hoses can become chaffed from engine vibration if they touch any thing. This will cause hose failure and total loss of oil pressure instantly. This is experiance talking. I spun a  main bearing at 3000 rpm when an oil hose gave out. Rebuilt the engine, replaced oil hoses on both engines. Couple of years ago another hose failed, this time at idle, shut down engine, no damage. Replaced hoses again, this time with aircraft quality hoses with an outer protective jacket. What a mess 4 or 5 quarts of oil will make in the bilge. These remote filters make oil changes easy, but an ounce of prevention...! Capt Heavy __________________ Capt. Steve, Stuart Fl.
