Hi:

I recently purchased a 1987 Marathon Falcon XL 2001 (19 ft, Open bow). I'd be interested in hearing from other past or present Falcon owners. Mine is a 4.3 Mercruiser Alpha One Gen 1.

One little tidbit I'd be interested in learning is the placard capacity of the boat - how many people, how many pounds? I have not found any evidence of this anywhere, and I'm curious.

Dave

TwoWheels,

Welcome to the forum. I'd like to invite you to join the Marathon Boat owners group. I believe you wouldbe the first Falcon owner in our little cluster. Most of us own cuddy cabins but they are still Marathons. We started the group to help those of us owning these boats find and trade information.

We have found the going tough in finding information on Marathon Boats. There is a company, presently, using the Marathon name. However, they manufacture aluminum boats, like Grumman.

Here is a link: http://my.boatus.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=62706&PN= 1

I would hope that you would join us. Another set of eyes and ears would be welcome. I hope to see you with us.

As far as the data plate....good luck. No one in our group, that I know of, has located their's either. We have found some info on the web that tells us what to look for, just not where to look for it.

Bob

Hi, also new to the group. Have just purchased a 19.6 ft Marathon Cuddy with a 3.7 inboard Merc cruiser. Boat is mint with all all hardwood refinished. Orginal seats. Boat is a lowrider style cuddy, with only sleeping room for two in ciddy and nothing else.. Wondering if anyone new the model name of this one and also if there are any manuals around.

Might need a pic to figure out your model.... Pics of our group members boats on page 52 of the other forum (use the link). (The other forum has the ability to post pics etc)..

Anyways, from the sounds of it... you could have a:

1989 MARATHON BOATS - 2100 WEEKENDER

Length:

20'

Model Name/Description:

2100 WEEKENDER

Boat Type:

Stern Drive Power Boat

Hull Material:

Fiberglass

Beam:

8'

Engine:

1
165 HP
Gasoline

Net Weight:

3400

(Length fits, and a 3.7L is a 165hp.. also fits..)
