Hey, gang. todays subject ic how not to catch a fish.mLast weekend, when I had some family visiting, I had promised my brother to take him fishing. He's not a fisherman by any stretch of the imagination. So anyway, I reach deep into my pockets(now empty), fork out a bunch of $$$$$$$$ for gas, ice and some rigged ballyhoo and off we go. Started trolling offshore in about 70 feet of water, looking for dolphin (mahi mahi). Had 4 lines out, 3 on the surface and 1 down about 15 feet. Trolled for hours with nary a bite. Listening to the vhf fishing channel the other capts. wern't having much luck either. Then all heck broke loose, 3 lines going off at once. put a rod in my brothers hand while i grabbed another. Got my fish in first, a nice amberjack. Then reeled in the rod with no fish on it just to get it out of the way, laying it down on the floor of the cockpit. By this time we had a school of amberjack all around the boat. I must have laid the lure on the gunnel and it must have fallen into th water and got eaten by a a-j because the next thing I know there was $300 worth of rod and reel going down . What a bummer. Anyway we got 3 nice amberjacks. TGIF. Looks like a nice weekend down here. Going out again on Sunday. Y'all have a nice weekend. It's just about beer thirty. Capt. Heavy
