Topic: rudder plates

Installed new rudderplates yesterday. Original plates were plain steel. Real smart. New ones are stainless steel. Old ones had no bearings, just a hole drilled in the center for the rudder shaft to poke thru. I install oil impregnated bronz bearings in new ones. Rudders are nice and tight, no more slop. Finished job with 8 gauge bonding wire and sprayed all connectors with corrosion inhibiter. Installed new zincs this morning. Boat needs a bath.
