I want to install a windline 4 step boarding ladder on my 270 SC. The swim step is balsa cored, I have read a little bit on through bolting cored sections, but can not recall where I found the info. My plans are to drill 1/4 inch hole clear through top layer of fiberglass the balsa and the bottom layer of fiberglass, then enlarge the top hole to 3/8 inch and remove the balsa about 1 inch beond the top hole and fill this void with epoxy, redrill the 1/4 inch holes to bolt the ladder on, seal it good with 5200 and keep my fingers crossed. What do you guys think?
