Hey all,

Have a 2004 Monticello that we purchaced last year and am looking at installing a flush mount/in dash  Lorwrance multifunction chartplotter. I would like to have the external antenna monted on the Radar arch. I am wondering if anyone has done this, and how difficult it is to run the cable thru the boat and up the arch?

 I am concerned that if I went with the internal antenna and the unit is flush mounted, I will not get the reception I am hoping for?

Good day Vermit4,

It is not really difficult to run the cable:

1- you will install the antenna on the starboard side of the arch and will pass the cable through the same hole as the other cables came from the top

2- remove the side panel at the driver right side (screws that hold the panel in place are behind the gold or grey insertion)

3- fish the cable from the engine room through the bulkhead at the same place as the other harness and run the cable to the dashboard.

I appreciate the tips, did'nt know about the drivers side panel. I take it I need to lower the arch to fish the cable thru to the engine room? I have not attempted that yet? But I guess it would be a good idea to experience it.
