recently, the light under my ac mains breaker titled reverse polarity

Make sure that both the dock and boat ends of your shorepower cable are tight in their sockets.  If nothing else has changed you may have lost one of the connections in the wire. 

I had this same problem a month ago when the dock end of my shorepower cord was not seated and one of the connections was not making good contact.
