I bought a 2007 Intrigue last year and I'm looking to add some kind of tender this spring. As a means of reference, I have the extended swim platform and twin Volvo 5.7GXi DPS propulsion.
The obvious path forward is to proceed with a small Inflatable or RIB and a small four-stroke outboard with a swim platform-mounted davit system.
The Doral manual indicates that the maximum load capacity of the swim platform is 660 pounds which should easily be adequate for this Inflatable setup.
While looking into options in this regard however, I started wondering about the possibility of going with a Personal Water Craft (such as a BRP SeaDoo or Kawasaki Jet Ski).
Has anyone ever mounted a PWC onto the rear of a Doral Intrigue? The PWC dry weights are around 750-850 pounds. This presents two big issues I foresee...
How to attach davit system to carry it and,
How the boat behaves from a performance perspective if it can be mounted.
Anyone have any thoughts? My guess would be that a cradle system that mounts directly to the transom under the swim platform would almost certainly be required so I'm curious as to recommendations in doing so.
Am I out to lunch even entertaining this whim?
