Topic: Propeller question

Author Message Prev Topic | Next Topic  pare1 "Seaman Recruit" Joined: July 25 2007 Posts: 4 Posted: October 28 2007 at 20:45 | IP Logged I'm a relatively new owner of a 1988 Sea Ray Sundancer 268 with a single Mercruiser 454 engine (330 hp) and an standard rotation Alpha 1 outdrive. I want to buy a new prop. The Sea Ray site is no help (boat too old) and the Wizards on the various web sites are no help for my combination. I boat in the Chesapeake, which has many shallow spots and I'm most interested in improving gas mileage. I know the issues are brand, type of metal, number of blades, size and pitch, but, search as I might on the Internet, I'm getting no closer to an answer. The dealer looks in their catalog and tells me the 1988 is not there. Does anyone have this boat and can give me a recommendation? Thanks in advance.
