I have the 35MY and it is gas as well. I am over in Puget Sound, but grew up comercial fishing out of the Boston area.
I am very happy with the boat, the design and the hull. It is a great hull for open water. The interior is a good layout, lots of space (people and stowage), tho on mine (2001) the beds are not walk around, which leades to frustration with making :)
Here are my opinions:
1. range with the gas is much less than the diesel. I get about 120 miles to the tanks. That is a cruise at 14mph. I had to tweak the props and put larger tim planes on it to get it to that. Now, the 39 may be a little better, more length and the same beam.
2. wind influence on this boat is something to consider. every aft cabin has more windage than others, it is something you need to account for. I dont have thrusters, and get by just fine, but it was a steep learning curve.
Silverton is a good boat - so strongly consider it.
