In 2001, we purchase a 1995 Mainship 37 Motoryacht.  Is there anyplace we can find the history of our particular boat?

Just saw your post. I don't visit this site often.

To be honest with you, you'll find loads of information on the Yahoo Group for Mainships

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mainship/

There's a membership of over 1200 if I recall. I've been on that group for many many years and find it much more of a help than this site for most anything nautical.

As far as your 37' Motoryacht is concerned, keep in mind that Mainship is part of the Luhrs Group which also makes Hunter Sailboats, Luhrs boats, and Silvertons. In the late 80's early 90's the Mainship and Silverton brands seemed to be converging into one with the only true differences being the colors of the materials used for the interiors. It wasn't until the 350 was introduced that Mainship was broken away from the "badge engineering" idea, and bacame the boat company it is today, bringing the trawler theme back that it was originally developed as.

I don't know the numbers of each models sold, although there may be some information on the Mainship site.

I've owned my 1984 36 Double Cabin for 11 years and plan on holding her for another 11. My wife and I love her and she's a great heavy seas vessel. However she was built off the older trawler hull, unlike your 37 MY. I'd say you would be able to run circles around me for speed but I'd give a much better ride in big water and swells.

Enjoy the boat as we all should, regardless of their styles. And check out the Yahoo Group. I don't know where you live, but the Mainship Group has raft ups throughout the boating season all over the east coast as well as the Gulf and Pacific regions. We also have winter "raft-ups" at locations such as restaurants and private homes as well. Also check out the Mainship site

http://www.mainship.com/

and look at the "Owners Groups" section.
