looks like the keys were in the "run" position in one of the last pics.....

I'm guessing 50+ mph top end....35+ mph cruise ???

Pretty close! Top end is about 45 at 4100 RPM, cruise is about
30+ at 3000 RPM. I can get more top end if I change the
props because I believe these engines are rated for 4800, but
it is enough. Finally a boat without engine problems, and that
is the key point.

The original owner said his top end was around 25 and he
always had engine problems. He damn near fell out of his
chair when I told him what it is now...

Right now not much of a choice with the props. We
calculated the best we could, it's not like I could just trade
them out at the local Mercury store in Okinawa (I wish!).

I will look into getting new ones and trying to sell the
current ones on E-Bay later on because I agree with you.

I am a little attached to the boat, it just the right size for
me and what I want to do with it. All wiring has been
replaced with Ancore marine grade wiring throughout the
boat, plus all labeled for easy identification. All new sofa
cushions, electronics, stereo/speakers, lights, water
pumps, toilet. Basically a new boat inside and out, and I
think it would be cheaper to keep it than to sell it and try
and find another one in the States (and then who knows
what you get...)

This week I should have some time to upload the inside
pics. We really did a great job on the cabin.

understood on the props...i have the same exact situation....except with lots of availibility. them things aint cheap! especially your B-3's ....1000.00 per set??

i agree...I'd bring it with me too. total turnkey masterpiece.

So here is the start of the inside renovations. I wish I had
pictures of the before. Believe it was pretty bad inside.
The original carpet was not only moldy and full of mildew,
but it was peeling away from the walls and I guess a
previous owner just decided to cover some of it with more
ugly carpet! Even that was moldy and peeling away. The
sofa cushions were an ugly green, tore up, and full of mold
where the top hatch was leaking.

One option after tearing out all of it was to just sand down
the fiberglass walls until they smooth, or put in a drop in
ceiling and side walls. Both were difficult but in the end we
decided the drop in ceiling/walls would be a better plan and
less messy. This in itself was difficult because as well all
know there is not a straight line or angle on a boat. This
took a lot of meticulous work to get it right. Pictures
below:

One other important thing to note was that all the space under the sofa cushions was sealed in.  So I decided to open it up and put it to good use.  In this pic you will see us putting access doors on the top of the V-berth as well as an access door below.  Also notice on the right under the fan on the right I added an top access door which was not there before.  This will later be the fresh water holding tank.  I am not sure why Thompson built a boat with a head and floor drain but no fresh water system...  But I intend to correct that.

The holes in the ceiling are for the new lighting.  The front of the V-berth used to have a mirror, but I will put a light LED TV there soon.

You can see from the wood that the original door was square.  We raised it up and rouded the top.  Believe me this made a big difference and reduced knocking your head on a sharp edge by quite a bit.  Much better now.

You can see the new fresh water intake for the tubing from outside the boat to the water tank below, it is the inserted piece just below the wood trimming.

The stairs were also all closed in.  So I opened them up to make nice cubby holes.  New teak wood added for them as well.

Also added this new door here, another closed in space.  It is a great place to store life jackets becase of the amount of space it has.  Just above it I mounted the new stereo.
