I have a 02' 1900 maxum bowrider I just bought like new! I am very disappointed to discover a terrible porposing(bouncing) problem, Any solid suggestions? I just took the 19p prop off and put a 23p on I will try this week, the dealer told me to try a whale tail? Help Please!!

Had an 00 1900SC (Cuddy Cabin) and now have an 01 2400 SCR. Both boats exhibit the same porposing problem. The reason is fairly obvious. (Take a look at the hook of the hull at the transom.) The 2400SCR has trim tabs so I can force the nose to stay down in most sea conditions. The 1900SC did not have trim tabs and all I could do was trim the stern drive a bit further down than the optimium (as determined by engine RPM). I don't think you will find any relief from changing props. A whale tale might help. Both the whale tale and the trim tab solutions require that the boat be traveling at cruising speed or faster to provide any stability. Also. trim tabs down is not a real stable configuration in a trailing sea.

Hope it helps,
