Hi everybody,

I bet my wife and I are the newest newbies in this group ...

We just registered for this forum this morning ... and we just purchased our Bluewater yesterday ...

We bought a 1974 Boatel Bluewater Cruiser yesterday ... She is an oldie but from what we can tell, with some TLC she can once again be a goodie...

Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcomed ...  as I would certainly defer to experience with these boats ..

We are Florida people with about 40 years of boating behind us ... runabouts ski-boats, sport fisherman style, and houseboats .... all in our past ..  we currently have a 27' Adventurer Deck boat and a 24 SRV Sea Ray as well ... all older boats..

But .........  the knowledge bucket concerning Boatel Bluewaters is plumb empty.....  Indeed, your comments are welcomed.

Bill & April

Hi Bill & April... Welcome to the forum. I am sure you are going to love your BlueWater. If you find yourself needing any technical advice, the people at Bluewater Yachts are very helpful and they still have all of their blueprints and schematics on file, even for the older boats. For just a few dollars (Copy and Postage) they will send them to you.

Here is a link to their website:  http://www.bluewateryacht.com/

Here is their phone number and other contact info:

The best piece of advice I can give you concerns the windows, they are prone to leaks after a few years. The only real solution is to remove the whole window and rebed it with a good bedding compound. While you have them out, remove the glass panes and reglue the glass to the frame with a good urethane windshield adhesive. This is not really a dificult thing to do, more time consuming than anything.

My wife and I did all of ours by removing one at a time each evening after my wife got hom from work. The next day, I would clean it all up and reglue the glass, then that evening we would install that window and remove the next one.
