Hi eveyone.

Can anyone give me any data as to what they think of the gs249.  I sold my 30' Sea Ray because my 9 year old wants to go tubing and possible water skiing. We had planned on buying a used 24 Sea Ray but have not been happy especially with the "porta potti" type set up.  We know we are giving up a lot of comforts moving down in size but I found an ad for a 2001 Glastron 249 (22K) with "china" head so I assume it is a similiar to a standard home head.  I have not heard much of the Glastrons since I owned a Carlson many many years ago. Are windlasses a standard type accessory with this boat?  Also even though I have a 9 year old son I am 60 and have boated for 45 of them.  In the past Volvo was never a favorite for an I/0 but I hear they are much better now.  I appreciate any advice you can supply.

thanks  alan7117

Well, I'm pretty happy with mine.  It's not the most deluxe boat in its size but it's a good value for the money.  As for the head, don't assume it's like a home toilet.  The "stuff" has to go somewhere and the boat most likely has a holding tank that will need to be pumped out on a regular basis.  It holds 15 gallons.  A windlass is not a "standard accessory, it's an option at about $3,000 and most of these boats won't have it.

Here is a link to photos of my 2003 GS 249:
