Hey Pete - great idea!  I've been looking for a forum such as this for a long time and now here is tis'.  Just to let folks know, I own a 1986 Connie #148.  I bought her in 2001 on the Pautuxent.  Her previous name (one of them) was Merry-Go-Round.  (Anyone know anything about her?).  I think she'd been around the Merry-Go-Round a few times!  I bought her knowing that she needed a lot of work.  But I never realized what I was really getting into.  BUT....five years later and mucho' dinero' and mucho' tearo', she's finally where I've always wanted her to be.  She looks good for an ol' gal.  I've virtually replaced (or heavily repaired) everything (and I mean everything) on her.  I turn all my own wrenches, so feel free to get in touch with me  (eshover@msn.com) and I'll help if I can.  I know more about 6V92's than I EVER wanted to, but it's good to gain the knowledge.  I still have to turn to the pros for the more complicated stuff (boatdiesel.com is a great resource).  Just finally finished installing new teak and holly flooring in my galley.  It was a job but well worth it.  I'll swear my galley looks 2 feet longer!  Well....maybe one foot.  And it's much brighter.  If you want to see, contact me and I'll send a digipic.  Ok, I've rattled on long enough.  Oh yeah, for the first time in my life, I now keep a boat in the Annapolis area.  I'm a former Aquia Creek (on the Potomac) guy.  I was born and raised on the Potomac in Stafford County.  Thanks for listening.

Hi Emory,

Sorry, that it's taken so long for me to acknowledge your post.  It wasn't on the "Murray Chris Craft Constellation 500" forum where I expected it.  For some reason your post didn't register on the Constellation 500 forum.  See if you can copy your post to the Constellation 500 forum.  According to my books you have "Southern Charm" formerly "Merry-Go-Round", "Donna Lee IV" and "Sinbad". 

I remember "Merry-Go-Round" from the broker's ads in 2001.  Does she still have that Whaler mounted over the aft deck?  Sorry to hear that it took so much work to get her back in shape.  I'm also a do-it-yourself mechanic and know how much work it is.  And I've been working on mine for 13 years.

Glad to hear of another Connie in Annapolis.  We may have enough for a rendesvous at Kent Island Narrows on the 27th.

Pete - send a message to Jim Rabey Jim Rabey <jrabey@verizon.net>  He just bought a 500 and is now on the way back up from Florida.  He left Charleston on slack tide this a.m.  He will be keeping his "new" baby on the Sassafras at Georgetown (I think).  He is a former Uni owner and still has it.  He'll be a welcome addition to our group.  Also, send a message to John Gobble jgobble@masecurities.com  He owns an '87  500 that I surveyed and delivered  for him a few years back and has totally restored it.  She's a beauty!  He keeps her on the York River (York River Yacht Haven).  I hope these guys will join in.  Tell em' Cap'n Shover sent you.

Hi Emory,

Please try to use the Constellation 500 forum.  I don't always notice the posts on other Chris Craft topics.

What are the names of Jim Rabey's and John Gobble's Connies.
