My wife and I have a SeaRay 270SD, Second Best Toy, that we trailer all over the Carolinsa, GA and FL.  We have always been interested in trailering to somewhere in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area and cruising up/down all the channels, rivers, areas of interest.  Does anyone know if there are marinas that do tranient docking or is there available water, fuel and pumpout?  Any ideas on how to plan this trip?  We just want to see all the kool things you see on TV.

Hello,

My wife and I live in Key West, but we lived in Miami for a couple of years 5 years ago. When we where there, we kept our boat at Pelican Harbor Marina. It wasn't the nicest marina, but it was run by the city and had fair prices and plenty of protected slips.

Another marina in Miami a bit south of Pelican Harbor is Sea Isle Marina & Yachting Center. It's attached to a huge hotel complex with plenty of eating / bars within walking distance. I had a couple of friends who lived on their boats at this marina. It's centrally located and right on the ICW.

If you decide to come down to the Keys, I'll have more to recommend. Have fun.

My wife and I no longer live in Key West, however, our boat is still there.  We use it as our getaway until we get her moved up to where we are located now.
