We just purchased an older Grumman G-17 double end canoe. The serial number is 3707 and a sticker on the bow says "Lone Star Lake, 1974". Another says "Lone Star Lake, 1975" I've written email to the Marathon/Grumman people to inquire about the age of this canoe. It's still early, but since they have changed hands a couple of times, I doubt they will know.

Four questions:

Does anyone know the year this canoe was built?

I'm wondering about lining the inside with a rubberized coating (similar to a PU bed liner) to cut glare and noise. Does anyone have experience doing something like this?

Does anyone know the hull thickness? It isn't specified in the model number like newer models.

Where is Lone Star Lake?
