I need a solution for the achor rode going thru the windlass and bunching up in the compartment. Then binding in the windlass going back down. I'm tired of having to unbind the rode and then go back to the switch. any help appreciated

Bill

Bill -

I had the same problem, my windlas wasn't set directly over the locker and it used to bind the same way going in and out.  I took off the Goode windlass and put on the following so the rode would pull out clean and set back in the locker without binding:

I bought a PVC shower drain (2x3") with stainless strainer, drilled out the center of the strainer to the size of the hole in my deck, drilled out the screw holes in the PVC portion so I could get SS nuts/bolts long enough to reach and mounted all this under the windlass - SS on top of the deck and PVC in the locker.  I reduced the 2x3 shower drain to 1.5" and added 2 45's to dump the rode in the middle of the locker.

I understand this is confusing, but gives you a gist of what I did.  Scott

I had the same problem.  There is not enough fall so you need to take the section that usually does not go overboard and move it to one side.  This will allow the rode that you usually send overboard to fall further (only 3-4 inches) which was enough to solve my problem completely.
