I'm interested in hearing from 32' Carver Mariners owners, circa 1989, plus or minus years of that model.  My previous vessel was a '92, 31' Silverton convertible, so while the two vessels are not necessarily apples and apples, I would appreciate any appropriate comparisons.  For example, I could take my Silverton over 3-4' wakes, waves and bumps with relatively ease with its 14 degree dead rise, but the Mariner stern is basically flat.  How do you compensate with the Mariner's less than optimal hull shape?  Another issue is windage - which was an occasional problem with my Silverton because of it's height.  Granted, the Mariner is lower. but has a longer horizontal profile.  How does that affect handling around the dock?  Also interested in V drives vs. straight drives, and what needs to be done maintenance wise, or if that is basically the same.  Can't seem to find anything regarding positive or negative benefits between the two.  The Silverton had Borg-Warner velvet drives, buy do the V drives have the same tranny?  Hope so, because the B/W worked great.  Sorry to make this such a long narrative.  Can't seem to find answers anywhere.  An apology in advance if this is the wrong venue for all this blathering.  Thanks.  Take care.  tlb
