Has anyone used the white from Vivid (Petit Marine Paints) on a newer formula? If so how did their white color match up the the white gel coat?

Also, for those in the northeast (South Shore of LI to be more specific) what should I expect to pay for the initial prep and painting of a 31PC? (its been a long time since I've had to worry about this).

Thoughts?

Jeffrey

The white is very close to the white fiberglass, you really have to be close to see it is bottom painted. I have it on my 31PB with black hul and think I made the right choice.

lbi4fun,

Thanks for responding.

Can I ask where you boat and what the water is like (fast moving, brackish etc) where you dock it?

The more ppl I ask about the water bottom paint (and the closer they are to the marine industry) the harder they try to push me away from white antifouling bottom-paint as they claim it yellows very quickly.

Jeff

My Marina is on the Barneget bay in NJ and we have a lot of traffic going by about 600 feet away from the channel. I had the boat in the water for 5 months last season and it had a very light yellowish residue on it that was easly washed off. I like the looks of the white with my black hull, I had to stay on top of the water line to keep the green slime off but was not anymore than what I did for my prior boats.
