     I saw a intrigue at a recent boat show and was amazed at the fit and finish of this boat. The question I have for the forum is, is this a well built and durable boat.  I would be using the boat on Lake Michigan.  What would be the pros and cons of this boat versus a Sea Ray, Monterey or other boats in this class?  Any regrets from the doral owners out there?  Thank you for any info you can provide.

    There are a lot of things to consider with this boat versus a Sea Ray. First of all, I would look at construction. Doral builds there boat with a balsa core. Sea Ray does not do this until 32 feet. This translates into a stiffer boat with a quieter ride. Secondly, take a good hard look around, everyone and their brother has a sea ray. Dare to be Different! This boat is radically different then the sea ray and also has a larger cockpit with the sliding aft bench. Lastly, you need to run an intrigue. This is an awesome sea boat. Real deep V carried all the way to the stern and some 280-320's and she will never let you down. Trust me, you can't make a bad choice with a doral.

Very solid ride on our Intrigue. Best cockpit layout in it's class, and
great fit/finish and details. I chose it over the Sea Ray and would again
any day. Twin 5.7 280's perform great on this boat.
Being a unique boat, everyone has to come take a look at our boat
wherever we go, so if you want to have a different boat than "the rest"
it's a great choice .
Make sure you get the teak swim platform, really turns heads!

I bought a 2005 Elegante left over and find this to be a very well designed boat.  Quite a bit of thought went into the layout and design of this boat - it is terrific. It handles very well - even in choppy water it is a smooth ride and I don't get splashed.  The boat is really beautiful.  Time will tell with reliability and service - only had it out twice.
