We boat at lake Powell, on the Utah side, and just recently purchased a 2001 330 ss. It is outfitted with the 7.4 litre engines with 100 hours. I know they are originally rated at 310 hp with the boats top speed of 53mph at sea level. Lake powell is currently at 3603 feet above sea level. I know there is a power loss, but does anyone know, by experience, what i can expect for crusing speed/top speed????

We are new to Formula and the forum. Just picked up the 31pc with the new black cherry color at the local boat show here in Phoenix.

We are avid Lake Powel boaters and used to have a Chap. 260 ssi with a single 7.4 mpi with the Bravo 3. I was pleasantly surprised to find very little loss of power or speed. The high torque of the big block and the Bravo 3 were a great match. I think the speed difference was only 2 or 3 mph.

We have to consider the fact that we were camping on the beach and probably had more weight in the boat as well.

I'm very excited about getting the new 31pc up there for a cruise.

Congrats to both of you and you won't regret it. Great boats and great choices. I know a friend that had a 1999 31PC with the 7.4 and was very happy with it's performance. YOu can find more info from him and others on formulaboats.com.

Finally, boating season is just around the corner. :)
