My 1988 Carver has a beige carpet like material that was used by the manufacturer to cover some interior wall and ceiling spaces as well as for hull liner.

I believe all Carvers of this time used the same material.

In the forward berth of my boat, this carpet like cloth material that was glued to the interior has begun to separate and drop from the ceiling.  It also contains staining.

I am interested in hearing from other Carver owners who have either replaced of repaired this condition.

1) What glue is recommended to re-glue the material to hull and deck?
2) What cleaning solutions exist for this material?
3) What products are recommended to replace this material?

I have a 1986 Carver Mariner 32 and I just had the sidewall lliners in the salon replaced by an upholsterer on the Ohio River in Ripley OH. He used a carpet like product called Super Flex from Miami Corp and it is glued into place using a latex based contact cement. He also used the same glue to install new carpet in the salon area and stateroom.  We used a silver super flex on the salon walls, and the realy beauty of this material is that it comes 84" wide so fromt he windows to the salone sol, there are no seams! Cost for the salone area, both sidewalls, material and labor was about $400.
