I seem to have (luckily) inherited a 48 ft sailboat. It's a long story, but here is what I know about it. Made in 1968, at a Los Angeles boat yard, supposedly called Skalarud. ( I can't find any information on that name.) It is of Defever design and the hull is steel. It is a ketch. I do have an old picture of the vessel, although I haven't actually seen the boat in real life yet. I do know that the teak deck needs to be replaced and she needs a lot of TLC. Other than that , the 671 Detroit has 25 hours on it since overhaul, and the transmission was done at the same time. I am not familiar with these vessels, and as I said, I can't find any information on the name Skalarud. Any information on this type of vessel would be really appreciated. Thanks so much.
