I need some warranty work done on my Doral Monticello. Won't go back to the selling dealer because of the shoddy work they did in the spring.  JC Demers at Doral provided me with the names of dealers closest to us. They are:

Priates Cove Marina in Clay NY

Marine Collection, Ltd in Burlington VT

Kydd Marine in Massapaqua NY

Green COve Marine in Brick NJ

Does anyone out there know of these dealers? Anything good or bad to say about their service?

Appreciate any imput. Thanks,

DD

Heck, if you're willing to look in Vermont, you should give New Hampshire a shot, too.  Will (NHDoral) is at Meredith Marine, the Doral dealer on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith, NH.

Depends on where you are but I am very good friends with GCM, they are top notch. Pirates cove I have only dealt with there sales and they were great. Kydd marine is a new dealer in NY but I met them at the dealer meeting and I was impressed, very classy bunch. Depending on where you are also, we would be willing to service you also. We are located in Meredith, NH. I can guarantee you the absolute best in customer service.

Any other questions feel free to contact me. IF you need any information please do not hesitate to call me on my cell 603-707-7546.

Cheers,
Will

Thanks, NH Doral. I'm in the Hudson Valley near West Point, NY. JC Demers also recommended GCM. They are a lot closer than you are, but I have to say your participation in this forum has been great. If you were closer, I'd be knock'n on your door

Hi NH Doral,

Just winterized my Monticello. Because of my wife's illness, we never got to use the boat although the engine had been run to check the replacement tach. Unbeknownst to me, the dealer who performed warranty work last spring had filled the fresh water tank. (I was fortunate that I checked the levels on the breaker pannel - a sixth sense maybe). The boat had been professionally winterized last October.

I drained the FW tank, added two gallons plus of -50F antifreeze, pressurized the system, and purged all taps including the transome shower. Should I drain the hot water tank completly or leave it? I drained about two gallons of pink liquid that definitely tates like antifreeze, but I have no idea of it's strength. The tap had been left open since last fall (it began draining into the bilge while pressurizing) so I'm not sure where the liquid came from -  there is still an inch or so visible in the FW tank. I'm quite flummoxed!

What do you suggest?

Many thanks, DD

Just to get this straight, you had a fresh water tank that was full but drained it. Once drained you filled the tank with two gallons of antifreeze and sucked it through all the lines. How pink was the antifreeze. The key is to get almost all water out. When water mixes with antifreeze it lowers the burst prevention rate of the antifreeze. Basically what I'm saying is, a -50 antifreeze with half water is no longer a -50 antifreeze. If it were me, and this is what my service guys do, I would fill it with a few more gallons until I have a strong pink liquid coming out of the lines. COuld it be fine the way you did it, yes absolutely. Would I feel better if it were a few more gallons, Absolutely.

If you have any questions at all, Give me a ring, I sent you a phone number in an email.

Cheers,
NHDORAL
