does anyone have any experience or know of anyone that converted the old point type distributors to the electronic type? if so, was it worth the cost and was the performance that much better?  thanx   jk31668@aol.com

If your distributors are in good condition and properly adjusted, you will not see any significant improvement.  Maintenance will be reduced slightly in that you will not have to adjust or replace points. If you are refering to High Energy Ignition (GM HEI) distributors & ignition system, you may see improved reliability.
