I have a 1998 Chapparal 205LE with a fiberglas fuel tank. I am concerned about the new ethanol fuels affecting the tank or the fuel system. I've tried asking Chapparal via e-mail, but get no response. Has anyone else found the answer to this concern?

Thanks!

It does not surprise me that Chaparral has not got back to you.  Seems to be their style!

I recently read an article about the alcohol in gasoline and boating.  There is a concern with fiberglass tanks.  The alcohol will in time break down the resin and cause gumming in the fuel system.  Also concerns about the alcohol separating with water but that will affect all tanks.  Try “Asking The Experts” at Boatus.  It might have been an article there that I read.
