I had zero problems so far but my luck has got to run out sometime. Congratulations on acquiring a great Sea Ray. The best way to prevent problems is through regular maintenance. This is especially true with diesel engines. Your Cummins diesels should be serviced (oil, oil and fuel filters, etc.) at least once every 12 months depending on your useage. Batteries should be maintained with proper fluid levels and never be allowed to discharge more than 50%. External and internal zincs should be checked regularly for corrosion and replaced in necessary. The list goes on and on (see your Owner's manual). Hope you enjoy you're boat as much as we do ours. My friend has a '99 41 Formula with the 450 Cummins you have. He has about 260 hours on the engines with no problems at all.
