Hi gang.  I'm the owner/maintainer of a 2002 272 Sportfisher in Annapolis, MD.  8.1L staright inboard.  Would be happy to help or share on Sportcraft topics.

sdfischer,

I am a previous SportCraft 272 owner. I just upgraded from my 2001 272 which

I used for extensive cruising around the Long Island area. I loved the boat and

I'd be happy to help out anyone who owns one.

Thanks Mariner!  What power did you have in your 2001?  It's a strong boat for sure.  Only 600 hours on my 2002 due to some injury/off time, etc.  Hope to keep it much longer but costs in Annapolis are crazy and I'm retiring next month so we'll see!

sd,

I had the Mercury 454 Horizon with fuel injection. One of the best pieces of machinery it has been my pleasure to own.  I found the "sweet spot" at about 3400 RPM and we could (and did) cruise for hours at about 20 - 21 knots. I was using a three bladed prop 18 x 21 with a slight cup. We acheived an average of 7.4 gallons per hour over the course of any given season.

The Chesapeake is on my list of cruising destinations one day. Looks like a very interesting shore line with places to stop and explore.
