Hello!

I own a Lancer 30' sailboat, currently occupied as a live-aboard by
my son. He's had some odd trouble with the starter solenoid on the
18hp Yanmar 2 cylinder diesel engine. Apparently the solenoid died
and the replacement burned out after only a few starts.

My son wonders if there might be a short circuit anywhere, or if there
might be another cause for this problem that somebody out there
might suggest looking out for before he spends another C-note for
yet another solenoid!

But what a sweet boat she is once the motor's off and she's under
sail!

I know this is a new topic in a new Manufacturers Forum, but I hope
it will soon be well-populated!

Best to all!
