I have a 2005 Signature 310 and am considering purchasing a cockpit cover.  Does anyone have one, either factory or custom, and, if so, their thoughts.  If custom, any recommendations for a canvas maker on Long Island, NY (south shore, Nassau county) would be appreciated as well.  The camper canvas is nice, but setting up and tearing down is a bit of a pain.  Thanks.

It didnt come with one? My 290 came with both a cockpit cover and a camper canvass set up. I thought at least the cockpit cover was standard....

My 2005 210 came with both.  The cockpit cover is nice but beware of one thing.  It will come inboard of the arch and will need to attach to the arch usually with snaps.  When it rains, water will seep down the arch and get behind the canvas.  Go to a dealer and see how they have overcome this.  I'm told they now install a plastic channel for the canvas to slide through.  Nice idea but can be a royal PITA (pain in the ass) every time you put the cover on.

I had a cockpit cover made for my 300.  To me, the biggest advantage of a cockpit cover is reduction to sunlight damage to the interior.  Be sure if you have one made that it covers the windshield.

Caulrich my 2006 310 came with the cockpit cover. Get on the yellow pages and find a canvas shop they will be able to make one for you.  Once summer is here I never use the glass unless its starts raining during my trip. The cover is easy to put on and off. Like one of the other posters said make sure you get one that covers the windshield so that it protects the instruments.
